The spatio-temporal loophole between Christmas and New Year
I always seem to use this spatio-temporal loophole moment between Christmas and New Year to: 1. digest the year, 2. understand it, 3. set my intentions for the next one, and 4. map out how to make them happen.
What I’ve taken away from my 4,000 videos watched and conversations had about the power of vision boards is mainly this: no one is going to come and make your life more enjoyable for you. It’s really up to you to go after it. To see the privileges you have, to recognize the opportunities in front of you, and to use them to your advantage.
And beyond all the “non-science” around vision boards, there is something very real behind them: it’s the same technique athletes use before a game. They visualize step by step their performance and their achievement, so they can replicate it on game day. Seeing yourself do it before you actually do it creates a mental path so you’re no longer starting from zero when the moment comes.
The idea is to create a framework for the year a kind of visual manifesto you can fall back on when you’re truly down and nothing seems motivating except the past version of yourself who still had some vision because she’d slept 10 hours, eaten well, and had a rested mind, far from social media and from the way Jean-Paul-Jacques lives his life (its a French saying that basically means “randoms”). Just you, your ideas, and your beliefs.
And of course, it has to be curated around you, not someone else’s life, not someone else’s choices. Yours.

So that’s what I do during this week between Christmas and New Year. I go into standby mode pausing in order to restart better. I sort through what I want and what I no longer want, and above all, I take the time to manifest as much as possible for my future self… the one who might be completely overwhelmed in a few weeks or months :p
